India is a large country in it's size and regional differences so there are a number of universities in every states. All states have their on educational growth and development in every area. The central universities are the best universities in other states except Kerala. The central universities are public universities established under the Act of Parliament. Universities in India are recognized by the UGC (Universities Grants Commission). As UGC published in 16 November 2022 there are 54 central universities in India while Kerala has only one central university named Central University of Kerala in Kasaragod district.

                  The top ten central universities are Jawaharlal Nehru University, Banaras Hindu University, Jamia Millia Islamiya, University of Hyderabad, Aligarh Muslim University, University of Delhi, Tezpur University, Pondichery University, North Eastern Hill University, Visva Bharatha University. CUCET is a common entrance test to take admission in 14 of these universities the remaining universities offer admission through their own entrance tests. All universities are directly funded by the ministry of education.

                 The Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) is the best university in India as they received the Best University Award from the President of India in 2017 and the university was also first to introduce an integrated five year MA program in foreign languages.

               The institutions of IIT (Indian Institute of Technology) and IIM (Indian Institute of Management) are  centrally funded technical institutions. These universities are focused on technology and management as their admission depends on the CAT exam's result. These are the most recommended institutions for technology and management.
