By train: Thiruvananthapuram has a major railway station - Thiruvananthapuram Central Railway Station - which is connected to several major cities in India. There are several express and superfast trains that operate to and from Thiruvananthapuram. 

By bus: Thiruvananthapuram has a well-developed road network, and there are several private and government buses that operate to and from the city. Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) operates a network of buses connecting Thiruvananthapuram to other parts of the state and neighboring states.
